Czech and Slovak markets
Why the Czech Republic?
The Czech Republic is one of Poland’s top five trade partners in the European Union. Poland is the third biggest trade partner for the Czech Republic, right after Germany and Slovakia. The value of transactions between the Czech Republic and Poland is growing. Exports of Polish products, particularly those which have become highly competitive in this market, are growing fast. These products include, in particular, clothes, footwear, furniture, household appliances, food and building materials. Exports of Czech products and services to Poland is gaining impetus too.
Following its successful tax reform, the Czech Republic may be seen as an attractive alternative business destination. This is of benefit to, in particular, people living in areas close to the Czech Republic, namely the regions of Lower Silesia and Upper Silesia. People who do business in the Czech market say that the legal and administrative culture of that market is higher than that of the Polish market. It is a common and justified view that Czech public administration authorities have a better attitude to entrepreneurs.
All the above aspects, as well as the most recent changes in the Czech tax system, i.e. a 15% flat-rate tax rate for personal income, a 19% tax rate for corporation tax and a 15% tax rate for dividend. All this makes more and more Poles look on the Czech market as a place to invest in.
The growth of the Czech economy is closely linked with the inflow of foreign investment.
How can we help you?
The Czech market is more mature than the Polish market and offers rules for doing business similar to those in Germany. This is true for, in particular, the rules of competition, legislation, business ethics and mentality. We have worked for various business clients who are successful in the Czech market. Over the years, we have assisted many of them in areas such as the formation, transformation and liquidation of Czech companies, and provided them with tax advisory, accounting and personnel and payroll services. We are also experienced in judicial and extrajudicial debt recovery, legal representation before Czech courts and in dealing with authorities, as well as registered address rental in Prague.
