Legal Support for Chinese Businesses in Poland and Europe – KBZ and Hui Ye Partnership
KBZ Żuradzki Barczyk & Partners establishes strategic cooperation with Hui Ye Law Firm to support Chinese business expansion into Polish and European markets
As part of its consistently pursued strategy to support Asian enterprises in expanding into European markets, our law firm has entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with Hui Ye Law Firm – one of the largest and most reputable law firms in China, employing over 1,500 lawyers across 41 offices.
In mid-May, KBZ experts – Marcin Barczyk, Partner, and Marcin Ociepka, Junior Partner – visited Beijing and Chengdu. During a week-long delegation under the banner “Bridging Business Law”, the lawyers were hosted by representatives of leading Chinese law firms, sharing key insights on cross-border investment.
In the Chinese capital, they met with representatives of Yuhong, JunHe, and Thornhill Legal, discussing potential cooperation and the exchange of experience in advising Chinese clients operating in Europe.
The culmination of the delegation was a visit to Hui Ye Law Firm, where a seminar was held for Chinese investors. During this event, lawyers from both countries joined forces to comprehensively address the legal aspects of expansion into European markets – from the process of establishing and operating a business, through key differences between Polish and Chinese corporate structures, to practical conclusions drawn from ongoing bilateral economic cooperation.
The highlight of the event was the signing of a “Strategic Cooperation Agreement” by partners from both firms – Bi Yingzhi and Ling Xiao of Hui Ye Chengdu, and Marcin Barczyk and Marcin Ociepka of KBZ. The agreement establishes a long-term strategic partnership aimed at supporting Chinese companies entering the Polish and EU markets, as well as assisting European clients in navigating the Chinese legal system.
Both firms have committed to close cooperation in areas such as corporate law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and ESG. The collaboration will operate on a preferred but non-exclusive basis, including mutual client referrals, knowledge sharing, cost optimization for cross-border transactions, as well as ongoing exchange of information, joint publications, and events.
“Our partnership with Hui Ye marks a significant step in the implementation of our strategy of building legal bridges. Together, we are creating a stable legal framework for businesses operating at the intersection of Asia and Europe. Current geopolitical trends clearly indicate that China will intensify its expansion into European markets – and Poland, due to its location and economic potential, can become a natural entry point. This makes it all the more important to develop the legal infrastructure that will facilitate and accelerate this process.”
– Marcin Barczyk
“This agreement allows us to operate more swiftly and effectively. We are creating a tangible platform for the business of tomorrow – and that future is arriving faster than expected. A clear example is the automotive sector, where Chinese companies are increasingly and successfully gaining ground in European markets.” – Marcin Ociepka
“We are proud to deepen our presence in China through cooperation with such a respected firm as Hui Ye. This enables us to better respond to the needs of clients operating across international markets. This collaboration is fully aligned with KBZ’s long-term strategy – we are pioneers among Silesian law firms in forging partnerships with Asian markets. Today, we are successfully developing a Korean Desk, and in the near future, we hope to establish a Chinese Desk as well.”– Krzysztof Żuradzki, Managing Partner at KBZ
The agreement, signed on 16 May 2025, marks a significant step toward expanding the international reach and capabilities of both firms.
